Asus N50Vn All Drivers for Windows XP

Asus N50Vn All Drivers for Windows XP

Postby DriverMaster » Sun Dec 14, 2008 1:42 am

A lot of users requested the XP drivers for the Asus N50Vn, but since I cannot get my hands on this model I decided to post the drivers I think should work and you guys test it here.

Ok so here we go:

1. Chipset: Mobile Intel® PM45 Express Chipset

North Bridge:

Direct Download for Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP Pro

South Bridge (Storage Manager) :

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product ... uctID=2101

Direct Download for Intel(R) INF Update Utility for Windows XP Pro

-

2. ATK

You can download and use every ATK Utility listed as working only under Vista directly from Asus website:

ATK Generic Function Utility
ASUS ATKOSD2 Utility
ATK_Hotkey Utility
ATK_MEDIA Utility
ATKDrv Utility

If for some reason they do not work, please post here.

3. Audio: Realtek HD Audio and nVidia HDMI Audio

Realtek HD Audio Driver for Windows XP

* In order for the Audio to work, you have to install the chipset drivers FIRST!

Since this notebook has HDMI built in, there should be another driver by nVidia:

nVidia HDMI Audio Driver for Windows XP

4. Video: nVidia 9650M

Now this was a bit trouble to find, since no official drivers for nVidia Mobile Graphic cards exist, but I know of a workaround for this and it works perfectly. I found a driver that should work great, but in case this doesn't do the job just post here and I will try and modify the driver myself in order to work.

5. LAN: Realtek RTL8168C

Realtek RTL8168C Gigabit Network Driver for Windows XP

6. Modem: Agere Systems HDA Modem

7. Card Reader: Ricoh R5C833

Ricoh R5C833 Driver for Windows XP

8. Touchpad: Synaptics Touchpad

Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Windows XP

9. Wireless: There are two different wireless network adapters for this model, and the best way to check this would be to try both until one of them works.
Or if you want to be sure you could: Right Click "My Computer" - Select Manage - Choose on the left menu "Device Manager" - Find the Yellow Question Mark which says: "Network Adapter" or something similar - Right Click - Select Properties - Choose "Details" Tab - and see the PID number. If it starts with:

PCI\VEN_168C It's the Atheros Network Adapter, use the Atheros Driver

or if it starts with:

PCI\VEN_8086 this is the Intel Network Adapter and you should use the Intel Driver

Atheros AW-NE771 Wireless Drivers for Windows XP

Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 5100 ABGN Drivers for Windows XP

10. Bluetooth: BroadCom

This was probably the hardest one to find, since I cannot test it I will leave this to you guys. One of these shoul work, please try them by the order posted and say which one does work for you:

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Dri ... 080903.zip

http://devid.info/d.php?file=/drv/3/5/9 ... ba09ww.exe

If that doesn't work, you can try installing the original driver for Vista.

Download it here - Extract it, and start the file located at: ..\Bluetooth_AW-BT250_253_VT_080626\Win32\brcm\DPInst.exe - this should work also.

11. Camera: There are two different models of webcams the Asus N50Vn comes with: Chicony and Suyin. To check this would be to try both until one of them works.

USB\VID_04F2 use the Chicony Driver

or if it starts with:

USB\VID_064E use the Suyin Driver.

Chicony CNF7246 Camera Driver for Windows XP

Suyin CN1316 Camera Driver for Windows XP

12. TV Tuner and Radio: Yuan

As I can see some models do have a TV Tuner built in. There are two different adapters for the TV tuners and you can check this by trying to install one at a time and see which one works:

Yuan_MC570QA_MC770 TV Tuner driver for Windows Xp

YUAN_MC872 TV Tuner driver for Windows XP

13: Fingerprint: This is originally for Vista, but is should work for Windows XP too.

Fingerprint driver and utility for Windows XP

PLEASE HAVE IN MIND THAT I DO NOT OWN THIS MODEL AND THEREFORE NONE OF THE DRIVERS HAVE BEEN TESTED. THAT'S WHY I NEED VOLUNTEERS TO TEST THESE DRIVERS AND POST HERE WHICH ONES DO WORK AND WHICH ONES DOESN'T. THE MORE DETAILS YOU CAN GIVE THE MORE I CAN HELP.

I'm so disappointed that so many people downloaded these drivers, installed them and use them happily, and not one of them has replied that they work.

I've read on another forum on another language, that my published drivers work perfectly for this model, so you can use them freely.

Very good, just a few things I recommend to do:
Do not download the noth bridge drivers, they won't install anyway.
Before installing BT and wi-fi, go to
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=X59SR, select winXP, enter utilities, download + install the wireless console, otherwise the wireless connections will not work.
Dowload the graphics drivers directly from nvidia, audio directly from realtek (there ARE official drivers for GF9650M GT).
Thanks again for the great help! ;)

I'm glad I helped someone. I will publish the drivers to the main site with a better guide, thanks to Kudel.

Thank you for giving your feedback it means a lot!

Thank you very much for putting this together! I am new to this forum and just bought a new n50v. I am in the process of putting these on a CD, however, I have been unable to download either of these drivers:

-Realtek RTL8168C Gigabit Network Driver for Windows XP
-Realtek HD Audio Driver for Windows XP

Looks like there is an authorization error, but if I were able to use these I would be more than happy to report back. I have a CD of Realtek drivers for my desktop, is there a chance these might work?
